Founded in 1964 as the first university in northern Thailand and now it is expected to be one of the most important academic institute in the area. CMU has four campuses, which extend to be more than 1,400ha in total scale. CMU and SGU have been mutually exchanging students through short international programs ever since the agreement was concluded.
