Career path after graduation
The Contemporary Economy Course at the Department of Economics develops students’ ability to analyze the contemporary economy from multiple viewpoints, with both an international and regional perspective, and to contribute to the development of a wide range of businesses and local communities. The employment offer rate for students graduating in March 2022 was 93.9%, and 64.7% of those employed were employed by companies headquartered in Hokkaido. In addition, the Career Upgrade Program (CUP) course offers a job-oriented curriculum that focuses on careers in public service, finance, IT, and other fields, enhancing students’ employability. The percentage of students who found employment in the three industries related to the CUP course (public service, finance and insurance, and information and communication) was 26.0%, or over one in four.
